Match Report – Bristol 15-29 Dorset

Well, where do I begin? We started so well – winning the first leg 7-4 despite only having 10 players. However, the tables turned in the second leg, ending up 12-10 down. Only 2 wins in the third leg and 3 in the fourth brought us back down to earth. We can do better girls, the first one and a half sets shows us that! The atmosphere when we were winning was positive and electric, everyone was enjoying themselves. We NEED to bring that energy to EVERY match and keep spurring the team on, even in the face of our own personal defeat at times. Having said that, Dorset are a great side and top of the table. Their average loss this season is 16 frames per match - so it could have gone worse!

I’d like to thank Lucy for coming to join us knowing we were short. Also thanks to (in no particular order) P, Michelle, Hayley and Merran for their help on the day and at the practice session.

Lady of the Match

Close to call this as we all played some sexy pool at times! I think this has to go jointly to Kate and P. Kate because she got a solid, reliable 3 and very nearly won her 4th. P, simply because her first game was the best I’ve ever seen her play. Attending the practice sessions has done wonders for her game – well done P! Thanks to Jason, Mark Court, Lee and Kev for their time.

TINA’S BACK…….YAY!!!

I don’t envy Tina’s job, I’m not going to moan (for too long) but I think we all should make more of an effort to make SURE Tina knows if we’ll be attending matches and practice sessions. I did it for one week and found it stressful and frustrating. All the captains do what they do in their own time and at their own expense, all we have to do is send a text.

So it’s Somerset away on Oct 12th. Let’s welcome Tina back with that positive energy and carry it through the whole day!!!  J
