Match Report – Cornwall A 21-23 Bristol A

The last match away to Wiltshire our team showed top class team spirit,  away to Cornwall is always a really difficult place to go too and to get a result there we would have to show the same team spirit again. The half way point we were 14-8 and were flat, then a big mistake from a Cornwall player pumped the confidence back into us and the team spirit came back fighting storming into a 16-15 lead!!! With Flacky away and with Cornwall beating Devon earlier in the month in Bodmin, Cornwall’s confidence was oozing, but we held it together we were loud, we quality and we were a team!! With the three B team boys getting 9 out of 12 frames who needs Flacky!! J

I’ve played county since ’98 and I’ve never known the A team to have spirit like this years!! Cornwall was just another example of that. We have a real chance of Yarmouth this year as long as we continue doing what we are doing!!

21-21 Skinny(the Cornish bristolian) and Woody both hold it together took complete control of their frames and won it for Bristol!! Well done boys, well done everyone!

Man of the Match

Skinny(the Cornish bristolian) has to be a contender playing against his old team mates with such venom, he took stick all day long but managed a cracking 3 from 4 one of which won Bristol the match well played skinny, but man of the match this month goes to Skinny’s fellow B team player Kevin Smith who’s black in the first frame has to go down as one of the best blacks I’ve seen in competition, not to mention the fact that there were 3 more blacks to follow, a massive 4 for Kev a awesome and solid display, just what was needed stepping into Bens shoes, well done Kev mate class!! About time you got through trials son!!!!

Next Match

They just get bigger!! Devon!! We need this one boys, again we need noise, we need support and most of all we need that same team spirit! If we’re going to Yarmouth we need to take apart everyone who gets in our way, lets finish Devon’s season early!!

Just one last thing well done to Marcus Foster who has qualified for the A team for the remainder of the season and has achieved it in his first year with county,  he will be back for the next game against Devon.
