Match Report – Wiltshire 24 - 20 Bristol

Well what a match! A slow start as we lost the first leg 8 – 3 with only Pee, Rachael and Kate pulling a win out of the bag. We started to get going in the second with a storming leg winning 8 – 3 bringing us level. Something went wrong again in the third as we lost that 8 – 3!! A lot was required to pull it back with Wilshire only needing 4 more to win the game. We pulled together and tried our best but it was not to be. Finally losing 24 frames to 20. What we need to take from this game though is that we can do it. 3 more wins on our side and the score would have been on our side. Remember Girls, Wiltshire went through the same as us a couple of years ago, new squad, new players etc and they have pulled it together to have a fairly decent side. So can we – I have faith!

Lady of the Match

Well, I have to mention some notable performances from Pee, Jess H and Merran who all achieved a 2 out of 4 – well done girls, not easy and just one more frame each next match and I’ll be VERY happy! I managed to pull myself out of a big slump to win 2. Rachael had a fantastic day winning 3 of her 4 games. Just show’s what you are capable of Rachael! My Lady of the match though has to be Kate

who was back on form with a storming 4 wins – shows what some focussed practice can do so please make sure you try to make as many practices as possible. Worked for Kate – Well done Kate,

nice to see you back on form.

Next Match

We are away to Cornwall and as we all know and have proved, we are very capable of beating them. I’m on holiday until 16th June so there will be one practice I can make on 19th June at the Crowns at 7.30 – I want you all to make it. Imagine, If we all practice as much as possible what we can achieve on 22nd. Zoe will be recovered from her hols and back on form – I expect 3 from you Zoe! We missed Jess P at Wiltshire so she’ll be back fighting won’t you Jess!  Let’s get as much momentum going from the start and get our win we deserve. I think Ali summed it all up for me in a text after the Wiltshire match – ‘I’m loving being part of a work in progress, it makes me proper proud – I’m in it all the way!’ I think that’s a perfect saying – let’s all go to Cornwall with that in mind and make ourselves proud! Feel free to arrange any other practices together while I am on holiday. Zoe will also have more to tell us about our County Girls night out!!!! See you soon.......
