Match Report – Bristol A 20-24 Somerset A

Perhaps the team talk at the beginning of the match didn’t do us any good!! Knowing how strong Somerset were this year I felt we needed to get together and compose ourselves, Somerset are a good side but we are better! But we didn’t show it! We missed too many balls and deserved to lose. If we are going to win this thing we have to play better than that!! We all struggled and the team morale went out the window. All I seemed to get was “Come on Captain get ‘em going” Off my own players, I was making as much bloody noise as possible and I had my own players telling me to get the team going, well I think you will all have to out a bit of that effort in too! Luck for us Devon only managed 27 past a 9 man Wiltshire team!! So results are going our way, maybe this is our year, but if we are going to win this now we need to go back to fundamentals. So many frames were lost Sunday due to us forcing finishes and fucking them up! Why are we going for these crazy finishes? Why are we going for finishes one shot premature??? The players we are playing against are quality but there not all top 16 players and they wont finish from everywhere!! We need to play basic and take our chance s when it the right time! We all don’t have to live up to some top name because of how good we are! Like I said Fundamentals back to basics boys, win the frame! Having said all that positives did come out the match from being 22-15 down we won 5 from the last 7 to avoid the loss being too heavy keeping us still in with a great shout

Man of the Match

Only 2 players won more than 50% of there games Woody and Flacky managed 3 from 4 and continued with there solid form. This months Man of the Match goes to the Guv’nor who’s consistence just keeps coming. Well played Flacky Boy!!!

Next Match

Away to Wiltshire, the last game before the half way point, away to Wiltshire, we probably wont be lucky enough to play against a 9 player team but we can still better the 27 Devon hit them with!

A few changes from here on in, if anyone is leaving the room please make sure you know when your on next as I also have to play and get fed up of chasing players all over the building!! Also we need to get behind each other more lets get loud ….. No!! Lets get fucking LOUD!!! And the last thing is the score!! I wont be sharing the updates with anyone you all need to concentrate on the frame your playing and just win that on rather than not worrying cos we are 10 infront or whatever the case is, so asking!! Now come on boys lets lift ourselves, we still got to play Somerset again and will get our revenge, the most important thing is we are still in this now lets get our heads back on and win this thing!! COME ON!!!
