Match Report – Dorset B 15-29 Bristol B

After last months downfall from grace we needed a massive result to get us back on track and we were not disappointed everyone stood up to be counted and Dorset felt the backlash!
We won the first two sets 7-4 before really turning the screw with an 8-3 third, but then came the food break and the dreaded final set!!! one we have become famous at losing. I was a little nervous but Dorset offered little and we ran out the set 7-4. 29-15 away is a good result anywhere and the noise levels were surprisingly high as its always hard when we play the sides we expect to beat easily and it almost turns into an apologetic atmosphere.

Man of the Match

This was tough, Stevo, Dan, Marcus and Shane were all very unlucky in at least one of their frames or we would have had 9 players on 3/4 and make it impossible to pick one.... but we had 5 players on 3/4!! Ryan and Terry playing for their county status and under extreme pressure played really well. Jason fought like a man possed to somehow win his second or he was in danger of being dropped! while Colin still in his first season played fantastic pool... but my motm has to be Jon Millard who potted an awesome black in his first frame jacking his cue in the air and powering right into the middle of the pocket then continued with two more fine finishes!! different class mate!

Next Match

I cannot stress how important this game is!! sure we have already qualified... but who dont want to get one over on Devon?? Somerset have improved immensley over the last few years as we have and there gonna want to do us big time. Were up there to be shot at but lets show them were no easy target! WERE NATIONAL CHAMPIOMS!
