Match Report – Dorset A 14-30 Bristol A

COME ON!!! Game on Boys, Bristol have landed. My first season as A team captain and I’m the proudest man in Bristol! The coach set off at 8.45 the weather was shit and we had a 3 hr journey to do on a shitty ‘A’ road to a place the driver had no idea where it was, could the day get any worse!!!

The club was shit, the tables were shit, the food was shit the journey was shit but Dorset was awesome?...... Oh no I mean Bristol were!! Dorset… were….um…SHIT!! 30 – 14 What a result away from home!! Huge!! To be honest I think we all knew we should of even bettered that! I personally feel they were lucky to hit double figures, when they come to us I cant see them getting double figures.

We were class as a team and showed it today. Mark Court and Dave Barrett showed true spirit today after having a slow start to the year, both the lads pulled it out today and deserved there wins!

A mention for Foxy who only got 1 but let me tell you, deserved much more, hit a black perfect down the rail to see it bubble in a dodgy pocket. He was gutted on his result but all day played a massive part in our win with his encouragement, we all now your class son!!!

Man of the Match

3 Players got 4 out of 4, hard to pick a Man of Match to be honest! Paul Elliott and Ken Edwards, consistant is these boys middle name, Sidney always producing the goods for Bristol and Ken playing some of the best pool of his career. Ken out witted the tactical genius that was Keith Brewer in his 4 from 4 win!!! Man of the match though goes to Dave Barrett, not just for playing so well and getting 4 but for 2 other things also! Dave has felt his struggle with the game recently and has turned up today and produced awesome pool! Which to me is some achievement!! It shows exactly why he earnt his place in the team! Dave also encourages our team mates no end! He is awesome to have in the side!

Well played boys! On top of all this though and everything else I have said, hats off to everyone we are playing well and top the region now so lets carry it on and get to sunny Yarmouth with the B’s!

Next Match

Home-Somerset- Somerset this year have the strongest side they’ve had in along while. It’s a very tough match and one we must win!!! We picked up points at the hardest game on the fixture list(away to Devon) so lets make it count and not fall over against this strong Somerset side. They know our strength and we are the better side, but like I said before we still have to do the work! Take our time, take our chances and lets win this fucking thing!!!!!!! COME ON (oh yeah I behaved in Dorset :)
