Mens A Team Report – Mick Dagostino

Cornwall A 21-23 Bristol A -
At last! A win over Cornwall away from home!  It's been a long time coming, but what a fantastic performance from
our boys to finally beat Cornwall on their own ground! What a game it was too! Close in every set with the final set starting with Bristol behind, needing
to win 7-4 to take the narrowest of wins! As usual against a very determined and resolute Cornish team it was nip and tuck with Bristol 22-21 ahead
with one frame to go! Their anchor man being the very capable Jon Ward, ours the ever reliable and unflappable Ben Flack! It was a very tight frame, with Ben doing what he does best under pressure and taking the frame to hand us a well deserved 23-21 victory! Well done Benji! The day itself was a
great performance all round and a great atmosphere as well! Long may it continue!

Man of the Match - Tough call this, with Simon Doyle and Andy Cooper (in only his second full A Team game) both winning 4/4

Outstanding performances from them both, but my Man of the Match must go to Andy due his lack of experience compared to Simon! Well done Coops!

Next Match - All I need say now is keep up the good work, let's get a big result against Wiltshire, and let's close the gap on Devon!

Mens B Team Report – Lee Rossiter

Cornwall B 20-24 Bristol B - What a great game!!  We should all be very proud of what this team has achieved in a short space of time.  Although
we have beaten Cornwall in the past at home we have been unable to beat them away in at least the last five years (since I’ve been playing County).
It was always going to be a tight affair with our 2nd set 6-5 win sandwiched between 1st and 3rd set 5-6 defeats taking us into the 4th set 17-16 down.
We all knew what it meant to us if we pulled away in the final set and thats exactly what we achieved.  A brilliant display saw us trounce Cornwall in
the last set 8-3 and along with it a well deserved  win.  I can’t fault the team spirit within the camp, It’s awesome!!.  We win frames together and we lose frames together.  Let’s keep that going!

Man of the Match - There were plenty of great displays most notably from Kevin Smith, yet another 3 out of 4 and from Josh Lane also with 3 out of
4, showing true desire to win his last 3 frames in his first full debut.  Well done to both men.  My man of the match however goes to Shane Thompson
with 4 out of 4. You can see the confidence oozing from Shane who has shown remarkable talent over the last few months and has installed himself as a regular starter.  Exceptional performance mate!

Next Match – We start all over again next, with a trip to Wiltshire.  We are now favourites to take this league by the scruff of its neck with home
games against Devon and Cornwall to come.  Lets make sure we get a big win in Swindon by playing to our strengths rather than possibly looking for
that big finish.

Ladies Team Report – Tina Harrison

Cornwall L 28 – 16 Bristol L – An unfortunate loss for us Ladies but I really can feel the team coming together now which we knew would take some time with the amount of new players coming into the side. Everything started to come together in that match with a lot of you ladies showing what
you can do with your first wins, it must have been the new T shirts! The Cornwall Team remarked on what a good atmosphere there was throughout
the game and how much of a ‘team spirit’ we gave off during the day.  It’s time we took that team spirit and show what we can do with it.

Lady of the match – I was so proud of all the ‘newbies’ finally claiming frames I must mention P who got 2 out of 4, Carly who claimed her first win
and Rachael who won her first two frames. My Lady of the match has to go to Kate though who still managed her normal 3 out of 4 frames. Imagine
the win’s we would have if we all were winning like that! Well done Kate :0)

Next match – Wiltshire are at the bottom of the table and we are more than capable of winning this game with the team we have. Unfortunately it’s Glastonbury weekend so we will be missing Jess and Ali. Your attendance is crucial along with your confidence to win your games. Come on Ladies –
we can do this!!
